MAJOR COMPONENTS OF THROWING A FOOTBALL:
- FEET SHOULDER WIDTH APART
- SLIGHT BEND IN THE KNEES
- WEIGHT 70/30 (MORE ON BACK KNEE)
- AS BEGIN TO THROW TAKE A SMALL STEP WITH LEFT LEG (IT TURNS OPEN)
- LEFT HAND PUSHES FOOTBALL BACK INTO RIGHT HAND (FOOTBALL IS POSITIONED BY THE THROWERS EAR)
- LEFT ARM COMES DOWN AND TO SIDE IN ORDER TO START TURNING BODY
- ARM 90 DEGREES
- BEGIN THROW BY ROTATING BODY
- BACK HEEL COMES OFF GROUND
- WEIGHT IS BEING TRANSFERRED TO FRONT LEG
- BALL COMES OFF HAND APPROXIMATELY WHEN ARM IS AT SIDE CREATING AN L-SHAPE
- HAND FOLLOWS THROUGH TO OPPOSITE POCKET EVEN AFTER BALL HAS LEFT HAND

- HANDS ARE IN A DIAMOND SHAPE WHEN ABOVE THE WAIST
- PINKIES ARE TOGETHER WHEN IT'S BELOW THE WAIST
RULES FOR FLAG FOOTBALL
DEFENSE
- Defense must count to 5 dot prior to rushing the quarter back
- Defense can only blitz once every four downs. If a first down is made by the offense then the defense regains their one blitz
- Defense can either play a "zone" or "man vs. man" defense
- Defense must count down from thirty seconds in order to make the offense runs a play
- An offense can get a first down bypassing midfield
- A quarter back can only run when the defense blitzes
- A player only needs to get one foot in-bounds when catching a ball
- An offensive player cannot flag guard (push defensive players hand away from their attempt to pull flag)
- Offense must get a play off in thirty seconds or they lose a down
- Quarterback must switch every series
